Chalkhill Blue - Polyommatus coridon by Mendipman Chalkhill Blue - Polyommatus coridon by Mendipman
A trip to Draycott Sleights this morning to find the Chalkhill Blues, was not disappointed and looks like a very good year for them, though the wind was a bit of a challenge.

Best viewed large.

I came across a similar butterfly a few years ago. (of course, my photography skills aren't nearly as good)  Convergent evolution, perhaps?

Nice shot, not convergent evolution though, yours is related the same group as the silver-studded blues we see here which all belong to the Lycaenidae family which contains hundreds of species including the Chalkhill blue.  Which indicates this group of butterflies has been around for a long time. =P (Razz)
